Allen Ludden was born on 5th of October, 1917 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Allen Ludden was host of a “Game Show” and also an “American TV emcee (act as a master of ceremonies). His birth name was Allen Packard Ellsworth; he is first child of her father Elmer Ellsworth, who died just in the age of 26 on 6th of January, 1919. At that time Allen Ludden was a child, and took care by his stepfather from whom Allen took the surname as “Ludden”.

Allen Ludden graduated in Phi Beta Kappa honors from University of Texas in 1940. In 1941, he also received his “Master of Arts in English” from same university. Allen Ludden served in U.S army and got Bronze Star; in 1946 he was discharged with rank of Captain. During late 1940s and early 1950s Allen Ludden began his career as an advisor for youth on Radio and in the Teen Magazine Columns. Allen Ludden hosted several game shows including “GE College Bowl”, but he was famous for hosting the both Prime Time and Day Time versions of Password on ABC and CBS during 1961-1975. The opening Television catch phrase “Hi doll” of Allen Ludden was directed towards his darling real life mother in law “Tess White” who was mother of “Betty White”. Allen ended Password with a “password of the day”. Other shows hosted by Allen Ludden include “Win With the Stars, Liar`s Club and Stumpers”. He also hosted unique pilot for “The Joker`s Wild” and had a talk diversity show “Allen Ludden`s Gallery”.

Allen Ludden was diagnosed width Stomach Cancer in early 1980. He slipped into coma during her vacation in late October 1980. Allen Ludden hopped to come back to hosting again but cancer made him never returned and died on 9th of June, 1981 in Los Angeles. He was 63 years old and buried besides his father in his hometown at Graceland Cemetery.
