I can remember Aziz Ansari’s interview with Jimmy Kimmel as the interview progressed I was struck with how well his role Randy has been received by the public. So much, so that people have started calling him Raaaaaaaandy (with 8 a’s) instead of Aziz Ansari. The film “Funny people” also stars renowned comedians like Adam Sandler. This year seem to be lucky for Aziz as he is coming out of obscurity to appear in major shows nationally. He would be performing for Comedy Works in November; just yesterday he has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. He would be starring in many films and his solo album is also due this year. Ansari costars with Amy Poehler and Rashida in the show “Parks and Recreation”. Parks and Recreation is a Govt. Department and Ansari is an employee there. He is funny in his occasional sleaziness and his efforts to reach the top at the department. Parks & Recreation is produced by the same producers as that of popular series “The Office”. At 26 his accomplishments are remarkable.
He is born to Muslim parents living in South Carolina. He comments on his looks, that people think that he starred in Oscar winning, “Slumdog Millioniare” (an Indian film)!. He graduated in 2004 with major in Marketing. After graduating he started his comedy career by working with Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel. Rolling Stones have selected him to be included in their “Hot List”. He won the “Best Standup” award in HBO’s comedy festival in 2006.
