BART Shooting

The BART shooting is in news today. The BART shooting refers to the incident when Oscar Grant an Africa-American man was shot at a railway station at Oakland. At about 2:00am on the 1st of January, 2009, the whole of the Oakland was celebrating the new year’s night but celebrations could no be seen in the Oscar family’s house because their young son Oscar Grant was killed in the BART shooting. The police was told of a couple of fights between two groups on a railway station, many police officers were sent to the reported station. The people at the station who were suspected for the fights were arrested and were to be taken to the police station for investigations. Oscar Grant was also on the stations and was included in the detainees, when a police officer approached Grant and tried to handcuff him Grant refused to give his arrest. The other officer Johannes Mehserle shot Grant at his back which proved to be fatal for him. Grant was declared dead

that morning at the Highland Hospital. The BART shooting trial is in the court and the police officer Mehserle who shot Grant being questioned by the court, the lawyer of Mehserle stated that Mehserle had no intentions to kill Grant.
