Buju Banton arrest refers to the news that reggae singer contacted a dealer to buy cocaine. The man was planted by enforcement agencies to uncover Buju Bantons suspicious activities. Reportedly the reggae star was arrested for his quest to buy almost 5 Kilograms of cocaine. The quantity involved in the case has made crime more serious one.

The arrest came as police received an insider information that Buju Banton would be travelling to Sarasota to strike the deal with a drug dealer. The drug dealer was apprehended and he was made to record all the conversation between himself and Buju Banton. Buju was accompanied by two other men.

As the details of the deal are coming to surface, it is being said that reggae star ran a whole ring of drug distribution and the quantity confirms the intention of Buju Banton to sell cocaine to the other members of the ring.

Buju Banton is in Police custody and would be presented in the court on Wednesday.

As per the police record Buju Banton was to meet a drug dealer in “La Tropicana de Havana restaurant”. Getting the tip the agents had been installed to catch him red handedly.

As Banton was striking the deal, the whole process was recorded showing the star checking cocaine and finalizing the purchase. Banton apparently checked the cocaine by tasting it and met the drug dealer in Sarasota two times prior to the deal confirmation.

Buju Banton is quite popular in Jamaica for his reggae style. He has is also at the centre of a controversy for criticizing homosexuals.
