The plot of the movie revolves around the child Bunny who is missing while returning from the school. The mother of the child who was single mother had recently come from Untied States to settle in England with her brother Steven who works in a newspaper. The police officer probes the case and tries to see many people as suspects including land lord of Ann who is an old writer and has psychological disorder of enjoying pain. So he was a sadist as well as masochist.

A retired teacher Ada Ford is a person who likes to collect and have a record of the bad dreams narrated by children. She lives in the upper storey of the school. The is hot exchange of words between Steve and Ada when Ada tries to direct the course of police investigation towards Steve when she tells the police officer Newhouse that there is something wrong and strange in Steve.

In retaliation, Steve threatens her to publish a scandal against her if she does not disclose the truth. The movie takes a very interesting turn when the mother of the lost girl is considered by his brother as a psychic and a dreamy woman. Steve who alleges that she always had an imaginary friend in her childhood whose name was Bunny. All the belongings of the girl were lost including her passport. Police officer was made to believe by her brother that her sister never had any daughter and the girl whom she is finding is just an imaginary character of her “fantasy world”. But consequently, the girl was found from the boot of Steve’s car and he was arrested by the police.

The motive behind Steve’s act was the consequence of her deep love for her sister to an abnormal extent since her childhood which forced him to take revenge from her husband and daughter who snatched his sister from him. So the story revolves around the psychological dilemma a brother faces due to his love for his sister.
