Canyon of Heroes ticker-tape parade which is announced by the New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be held on Friday 6th November at 11 a.m. EST. The canyon of heroes brings into mind’s eye the vertical presence of massive sky scrapers along its path. The granite stripes having names of past parade honorees engraved on them are also associated with the remembrance of Canyon of Heroes.

From 1924, when the first honorees paraded the path, the Olympian athletes of the year, who paraded an impromptu parade after the dedication to Statue of Liberty in 1886, the honorees, are scribing a history as the Yankees have done on Wednesday while defeating the Phillies, 7-3.

The cost of the parade paid almost entirely by the city’s marketing arm NYC & Co is $ 331,000. Fifty tons of confetti and the shredded papers will be used during the parade. World Series Champion New York Yankees will start their parade at Broadway and Battery Place, travel up through the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street. The parade will be followed by a ceremony in which the City Mayor will present the team with the keys of the city in City Hall Plaza.

Michael Bloomberg, while announcing the parade added that nothing is sweater than winning a World Series at home. He congratulated the Yankees for bringing the world championship home.

Core Four of Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte will take part in the parade for the first time since the Bombers took down the Metts in 2000.
