Another model committed suicide after Choi Jin-sil.

Another South Korean model has been found dead in her apartment. This is fourth model who committed suicide after Choi Jin-sil.

20-year-old top South Korean model, Daul Kim, who has appeared in many fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, and New York, has been found hanged in her apartment in Paris. Police has confirmed that she committed suicide. She was found dead by her boyfriend who came to visit her on Thursday. He called the French police and informed them about the death. He asked the police not to disclose his name.

Kim had been raised in Seoul and Singapore. She did modeling in Asia before making a debut catwalk in Paris Fashion Week 2007. She has modeled for top-notch brands like Chanel, Maison Martin Margiela, and Dries van Noten. Her most recent ramp appearance was in October in Seoul Fashion Week.

Kim was highly acclaimed for sense of style and quirky attitude. She was also famous for her thick hair. Apart from modeling she has interest in painting and her solo painting exhibition was held in Seoul. Upon her death her fans have mourned. Several blog entries have been made to give her a tribute.

Kim’s blog entries tell that she was depress. Her last blog entry was titled ‘Say Hi to Forever’.

A report has been published in Guardian which says that seven South Korean celebrities have taken their lives in last six months excluding Kim. Most of them were in state of depression in last days of their lives. The report said that the series started with Ahn Jae-hwan who was 36-year-old when he committed suicide. Choi Jin-sil who took her life in 2008 was extremely worried in her last days. She blamed herself to be the one who caused Ahn’s death. She too committed suicide, then the singer Lee Seo-hyun who was under attack over net and later Kim Surk-gyum who was also depressed.

South Korea has the 11th highest suicide rate in the world.
