News papers are full of gossip stories about the likes of Megan Fox and Angelina Julie but no one has given any space to the news about the death of 60s A-list actress Collin Wilcox.

To Kill a Mocking Bird Actress, Collin Wilcox Paxton, has died of cancer. Collin Wilcox is famously known for her appearance in the 1962 classic film ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’ in which she played the character of a white girl who accused a Black person of raping her. She died of brain cancer last week at her home in North Carolina. She was 74.

Collin Wilcox was born in Highlands, North Carolina on February 4, 1935. She attended the Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio and made her debut performance in theater while she was part of the Compass Players. Her performance in Chicago was her debut performance. She continued her acting career through theater and won her first award for her performance in The Day Money Stopped on Broadway. She was awarded with the Clarence Derwent Award. She continued performing on Broadway for many years.

Collin Wilcox, who is also known as Collin Wilcox Horne, has appeared in numerous films and TV plays. Her TV performances include her acting appearances in shows like The Twilight Zone, The Waltons, Under This Sky, Playhouse 90, Foxfire, and the Sound of the Anger. Her Big Screen appearances include A Member of the Wedding, Twice Upon a Time, The Revolutionary, and The Name of the Game is Kak. Though she appeared in many films, she is best known for Mockingbird.

Collin left Hollywood in the early 80s. She returned to her birthplace, Highlands North Carolina to take care of her mother. She almost disappeared from the acting scene and rarely appeared in any TV or Film after returning to North Carolina. She started living permanently in North Carolina with her husband and kids. Collin later founded Highlands Studio for the Arts with the help of her husband. The studio offered guidance and education classes to aspiring artists. The couple also founded a theater troupe.
