Delta smelt is a tiny fish, which is found only in Sacramento San Joaquin Delta, ruled to be more important than the human beings by a District Court of U.S. This tiny fish kind attracts bigger fishes is in danger due to the pumping stations providing water to the agriculture and Citizens.

The Delta waters are supplied to agriculture in the west of Delta and to the citizen of southern California. The pumping stations had been installed to suck the water and supply it to the required places. The pumping stations suck the water and the fishes were also being the part of it and was getting killed by the pumping stations. It was anticipated that the Delta Smelt would be finished from the Delta sooner.

Finally an environmental group filed the case against the transition of water from the Delta. Under the endangered Species, on Act 14th of December 2007, Judge Oliver Wanger issued Interim Remedial orders to US Fish and Wildlife Service and the interior department to restrict pump stations and issue permits to minimize the water transition from Delta.

Eventually the pump stations were restricted but the side effects were awful and terrible. Millions of tons of water wasted into the Pacific Ocean, the farmers suffered due to lack of water and the unemployment rose to 14%. The drinking water prices hiked, which were previously reduced to 84% by using the delta water. Saving environment, killing humans?

Finally State Water Constructors sued the Department of Interior and US Fish and Wildlife service and establish the point that while saving the fish, both the responsible departments ignored the consequences faced and have to face by the humans. And they are still doing hard to get rid of the ridicules decision.
