Flower Mound Tornado

According to weather, watchers report an electrical storm with strong winds and rain that was moving across the North and Central Texas region on the evening of Wednesday 10 June 2009 might have included tornadoes touchdown in Flower Mound and Princeton.

Meteorologist “Tara Dudzik” with National Weather Service said that Meteorologists will review the damage today to verify whether tornadoes touched down.

Ex-employee of National Weather Service reported that a tornado touchdown three miles west of FM 2499 on FM 1171 at around 7:00 P.M.

Bud Trammel an officer with Flower Mound police said, “No injuries has been reported and no tornado touchdown has not been confirmed” more over he said that the storm left behind heavy damage, particularly on the west side of Flower Mound.

Bud Trammel said that numerous trees fell down and several neighborhoods left without power along with Flower Mound Police Station, moreover he said that, the Flower Mound police department requested the residents not to call the dispatch except for life-threatening emergency.

An amateur radio reported damage to the roof and walls of an apartment building on the main street to the National Weather Service at about 6:55 P.M.

A spotter informed national Weather Service about 75-80 MPH winds in the Denton, whereas another spotter informed National Weather Service about a tree which fell over a house at Collins and Kilpatrick Road in Flower Mound.
