Joey’s full name is “Joseph Joey Buttafuoco” he was born on 11th March, 1956. Joey came in the headlines when his affair with an underage girl went public in 1992 the name of the girl was Amy Fisher and she was born on 21th August, 1974. Amy consequently shot Joey’s wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in the face. Mary was born on 15th May, 1955. Mary Jo survived the shooting but was deafened in one ear and her face partially paralyzed, after this horrific accident Mary was still able to give a description of her attacker had been wearing. She told the investigators that her attacker was wearing a t-shirt, which was inscribed with the “Complete Auto Body & Fender” logo of Buttafuoco’s auto body shop in Baldwin, Nassau County, New York. It was later revealed that the t-shirt was a gift from Joey to Fisher. Joey Buttafuoco comprehends the insinuation of the depiction and blamed Amy as the attacker.

Amy spent her next 7 years in “Albion Correctional Facility” for her offense. Joey was also found guilty of legal rape and spent 6 months in jail. Joey and his wife moved to California, later they divorced on 3rd February, 2003.

On March 25, 2008 an interview with Joey was aired on the “Drew and Mike” radio show, Joey told the interviewer that Amy was in fact carrying the t-shirt with the “Buttafuoco’s body shop” logo on it, Amy threw the t-shirt at Mary Jo after shooting her. In actual the t-shirt was a gift from Joey to Amy’s father, her also told that Joey and Amy’s father were use to be good friends.

Since the Amy Fisher confrontation Joey was charged with offenses on several times. He was charged with no contest to a solicitation of prostitution and was fined and placed on probation for 2 years in 1995. In 2004 he was found guilty in an auto insurance fraud and had spent 5 years in jail then in 2005 he was accused with illegal possession of weapons because of his criminal offender status he appealed but was refused and was sentenced to jail once again in January, 2007 he was released in April, 2007.

Mary Jo wife of Joey went to California and moved on with her life. She appears to be happy when she says, “My life has changed significantly. I now am living with my fiance, and his three children. My daughter lives with us. My son is all grown up and I’m being a mom again. Something I thought was over and done with. I’m doing it again.”

Joey made his film debut as a cab driver in the movie “Cul-de-Sac” by Uzo a Nigerian-born filmmaker. Joey consequently comes into view in many different movies like “Finding Forrester, The Underground Comedy Movie, Mafia Movie Madness, Skin Walker, and Operation Repo: The Movie”.

“The Underground Comedy Movie” won the Best Celebrity Cameo at the B-Movie Awards for “Joey Buttafuoco”.
