John Demjanjuk was brought into a Munich court on a wheel chair pushed by a nurse. John Demjanjuk is 89 years old. He is facing the charges of helping murder of about 27900 Jews.

John Demjanjuk a Ukrainian that is being tried for his duty as guard in the notorious Sobibor camp. He allegedly herded thousands and thousands of Jews to the gas chambers.

John Demjanjuk was in a painful state with his mouth wide open and he was breathing with difficulty. The doctor appointed by the court stated that John Demjanjuk has a heart murmur, serious bone marrow condition and gout that have affected his limbs.

All these medical conditions are not going to stop the blind goddess of justice to proceed as one of the survivors of Sobibor commented that they do not want him to serve in jail, they just wanted to see that justice is done.

Ulrich Busch who is defense lawyer for John Demjanjuk has built his argument on the grounds that John Demjanjuk was just a slave to the German Army. He further read aloud the list of all those SS commanders who were acquitted from the German trials that were held after the war. Busch took the stance that if masters (German commanders) could go free then what is in prosecuting their slaves. The arguments of the defense lawyer went deaf on the next generation of the Dutch Jews, the prime victims of Sobibor camp.

John Demjanjuk had been prosecuted in Israel there he was accused for being “Ivan the Terrible”. Although charges against him were not proved and he got acquitted from the court, but till that time he had served seven years n Israeli jails.
