Josh was born in 26th September 1977. Hal Pastner is Josh’s father name and he also happens to be a coach and a basketball promoter off course a local coach in Huston, Texas.

Josh has a dream of becoming a great coach from his early age he was in 4th grade when he started saying that. In his early age he started publishing the josh pastern scouting report of local school talent in which his father was coaching at that time finally his father gave away the coaching of Huston hoops of Huston, Texas team over to Josh.

Josh played basketball for Arizona from 1996 to 2000. He become the video and recruiting coordinator of University of Arizona in 2002 and served the university up till late 2008. Josh always knew want he wants in life and these are the basic steps to become a coach he worked hard and prove that he deserves better than this.

Josh is a persistent networker. Once asked to Josh if your are standing on an island which three things would you wants to bring along with you he answered “A lady who is mentally tough so she could survive, cell phone, computer with internet, and a CD player with some music.”

Josh is absolutely a sweetheart and an eligible bachelor.

Josh left Arizona staff that has been in a state of mayhem over the past year.

In 2007-2008 the coach for Arizona took a leave for the whole season but he came back for the next season and has reshaped his bench. Arizona did not renew the contract of assistant Miles Simon his contract ended in April 2008. Arizona hired Mike Dunlap as associate head coach in May of 2008 Josh was hoping to be named for the position, but his hopes never came to life it was then he decided to leave Arizona with a broken heart.

By the time Josh become 30, years of age he went to Memphis from Arizona, finally in by the start of season 2008-2009 he became the assistant coach on the Memphis Tigers basketball Team.
