Julia Murney

Julia Murney real name is Julia Kathleen Murney. Julia is an American singer/actress was born on 14 January, 1969. Before perusing her singing career Julia used to television commercial voice over’s and she has also done theatre. She has been a Broadway actress up-till 2005 but never appeared on the stage. The reason behind that was that her infamy came mostly from her performances on the Broadway aid circuit, and not conventional Broadway productions.

“Lennon” a short musical of Broadway was the debut for Julia in 2005. The musical didn’t lasted long enough.

She appearance in the film “Saved” the musical version of the original started on 9th May but was opened on the 3rd of June, 2008 the Playwrights Horizons Theatre.

Julia played the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita at Wells Fargo Pavilion in Sacramento the play started in August of 2008.

Her career also contains Funny Girl, Chess, Hair, and Pippin the World AIDS Day Benefit Concert she was among the actors.

Her television appearances consist of “Sex and the City, Ed, NYPD Blue, and Law & Order”.

Julia also took part in musical “Wicked” and starred as Elphaba in the national touring company. On 8th March, 2006 Stephanie J. Block was replaced by her. She left the National Tour on 3rd of September, 2006 Julia was replaced by Shoshana Bean. Julia was awarded “Acclaim Award” for leading performer in a musical “Cincinnati Enquirer”.

On 7th October, 2007 she ended Ana Gasteyer’s 8-month by replacing her in for the role of “Elphaba” in the Broadway production and after words she was also replaced by Stephanie J. Block.

In May of 2006 Julia’s debut solo album “I’m Not Waiting” was released with the record lable of Sh-K-Boom Records. Andrew Lippa wrote the title song of the album especially for Julia.

Julia has a very strong artistic relationship with Andrew Lippa. Julia has also sung a song for “Wicked” the name of the song is “I’m Not That Girl”.

Julia is the daughter of actor “Christoper Murney” and “Anne Murney”. Julia has the privilege to her name that she was Julia named for the song “Julia” from The Beatles White Album.

Her younger brother Patrick who is studying in Syracuse University, his major is Drama. Julia also has a younger sister, Caitlin. Caitlin was born in 1976 she is a film producer.
