“Thy Neighbor’s Wife!” it seems the motive of Sunday’s attack on the reggae singer Major Mackerel was his neighbor’s wife. He was attacked, well in medieval way – with a sword! The two feet long weapon left its marks on singer’s head wrist and arm.

The singer came to the lime-light in 80s and 90s for his reggae style and hits like “Dutty Bungle” and “Sorry Fi Botha.” The artist was spotted all bandaged around his head, arm and a hand, on his way to his home in Brooklyn. When he was asked about the details of the injury he just said that he picked a fight and got slashed. Garfield Dixon, otherwise known as Major Mackerel lives on a separate floor and has denied the allegation that he ever came close to the woman.

Major Mackerel’s own girlfriend Novia has also denied the flirtation charges.

Police, meanwhile has identified the attacker as Oscar Joseph. Police have arrested Joseph right outside the red brick building, where Mackerel and Joseph live in, weapon with which the assault took place was also recovered by the police with Mackerel’s blood still on it. Joseph was charged with assaulting and intension to cause serious injury, he was also charged with criminal possession of a dangerous weapon.

The Singer didn’t seem to be perturbed at all with the event and brushed it off with a smile on his face.

Reggae singer referred to his Jamaican origin and said “How can I feel bad for someone who tried to kill me?”
