The “Eighth annual Miami Marathon” started just before sunrise at the “downtown Miami”. The race started from “American airlines arena”, and will take the course through “Miami Beach”, “Downtown Miami”, “Coconut groove”, “Little Havana”, “Coral Gables” and will finish at “Bayfront Park”. The course of the Miami Marathon shows all the Miami attraction to the foreign runners. The participants don’t get bored as the scenic beauty and the famous locations catch their attractions. Miami has been the favorite location of many movie and TV series’ producers so the runners enjoy passing through the glamorous course. The route of “Miami Marathon” and “half marathon” is same. The course of “Half Marathon” is 13.2 miles. More than 17, 000 runners are participating in the Miami Marathon as 18,000 people got registered for the event. The course of marathon will remain closed for traffic to facilitate the participants.

Miami Marathon was started in 2003 and it has been attracting more participants with every time. Last year 12000 runners came to Miami from 40 countries.

The marathon organizers have made excellent arrangements for the comfort and aid of the participants. The first “aid station” is located at 2.8 miles and next stations are at every next mile. Water and “lemon-lime” to retain the endurance of participants is being provided at every aid point.

The weather of Miami is dry and cool so it is pleasant. Traditionally hospitable the Miami citizens gather by the course of the Marathon to cheer and encourage the participants. Some “entertainment points” are also there to add to the color of the event.
