National Board of Professional Teachers Standards, NBPTS is an organization working on the lines to produce professional teachers and to raise the bar of teaching standards for last 22 years. Teaching is the most important profession in any society of the world.

Teacher is the one who lay down the foundation of a good human first at individual level and then as a civilized nation at collective level.

It was back in 1985, when the federation of teachers realized the importance of standards for the teachers. Albret Shanker, the President of the Teacher’s Federation of America floated the idea of an organization to teach the teachers and set the teaching standards.

They decided that a group of intellectuals would be selected for society and to train them as professional teachers. They would work very hard with extreme determination and complete research for the standard operating procedures of the teachers.

So in 1987, the NBPTS came into existence, a standard setting and certifying body for the professional teachers.

In the beginning, NBPTS had an objective to raise the quality of teaching in America and now after more then 20 years, they have achieved their objective by developing, implementing, monitoring and executing standards for professional teachers. This statement is not just in black and white, the schools and the teachers are the practical example of the same. Now the teachers are proud to be a NBPTS certified teacher.

It just shows how success an organization can be based on commitment, honesty and quality. NBPTS had provided and will keeping on producing good quality teachers to make our nation stronger and civilized.
