New Moon is expected to make rocketing sales at box office. Twilight’s sequel New Moon is going to be released and predictions are being made that the sequel will make extraordinary profits at box office. The pre-release bookings of the movie have made profit worth £ 1 million for the movie.

According to Wall Street Journal, a leading business newspaper, Twilight’s sequel New Moon’s pre-release sales is predicting record sales at box office. The movie will be released on Friday midnight in UK, USA, and other major markets, and is making the biggest opening sales of the year. A leading ticket-seller franchise, Fandango, says that New Moon is setting a record advance tickets sales. According to the franchise, the movie has broken the records set by ‘Star Wars – Revenge of the Sith’ in 2005. A representative of Fandango says that they have sold thousands of show tickets and the sales has made a new record as it is the most number of tickets sold for a midnight show.

In UK too the sales story is not very different. According to Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group, the country’s largest cinema chain, New Moon has made $2.5 million by Thursday night and has become the fastest-selling movie of the year 2009. The company rep says that New Moon’s sales have surpassed the profits of ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ and ‘High School Musical 3′.

Now the question raises that whether New Moon would be able to break the sales records at box office too. Films like Transformers have made tremendous sales. Paul Dergarabedain President for Hollywood.com’s box-office division, comments that it’s hard to say that New Moon will break all the box office sales records of 2009. He said that even though New Moon has made $100 million sales so far, he is not sure if the film would be able to surpass the records made by Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen which made $109 million in its opening week.

Twilight and New Moon are one of those movies which have received a huge response from the audience, especially the youth. Both the movies are released by Summit Entertainment.
