NY Marathon

One of the biggest events of the year NY Marathon offers athletes to perform their best in order to register their names as one of the best athletes around the world, and 34-years-old Meb Keflezighi did exactly that on Sunday.
Meb Keflezighi becomes first U.S. citizen to won NY Marathon in 27 years. Eritrea native Meb Keflezighi becomes U.S. citizen back in 1998; he completed the NY Marathon a 26 mile race in just 02:09:15 a personal best.
People were really excited about the fact that New York City Marathon has been won by an American after so many years.
Meb Keflezighi left behind Robert Cheruiyot from Kenya who won Boston Marathon four times in the 23rd mile, leaving him 41 seconds behind to become the champion.
Jaouad Gharib from Morocco secured third position where as Rayn Hall stood fourth. This was the first time since 1979 that 6 Americans secured top 10 positions.
Meb Keflezighi trained himself in Mammoth Lakes, California; he has been an active member of the Mammoth Track Club from many years.
In the women’s division Deratu Tulu, Ethiopian native secured first position with 02:28.52, while two-time British Champion Paula Radcliffe

fall back to fourth position due to her left leg injury.
Two-times Olympic Champion and Gold Medallist 41-years-old Paula Radcliffe was not in her perfect physical condition during the race. She was unable to won any major tournament since London Marathon in 2001 where she received Hamstring injury during the race.
After the race many reporters asked Paula Radcliffe as if her age is one of the factors behind not being in perfect physical condition, but she denied.
