Oscar the Grouch becomes part of the Google Doodle Sesame Street Celebrations. It’s the fourth day of Google Doodle’s Sesame Street celebrations and today Oscar the Grouch was the one who became the face of Google’s logo on the Google homepage. The grumpy yet loveable Oscar the Grouch became the grace of Google’s homepage. This logo is a part of the series of logos Google has been putting up to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

Sesame Street, which started its first show on November 10, 1969, is one of the favorite TV shows of children around the world. Sesame Workshop, the research company behind the show, is now planning a brand new season of the show with new ideas to give it a makeover. All over the world, millions of adults tell the same story about their childhood and how they grew up with the show. The cast members give moral lessons to its audience through in their own quirky way. Take Oscar the Grouch, he taught the kids to tolerate others who are different from them and to be kind with them. Sesame Street brought a whole new concept of teaching young kids through interesting methods.

The cast of Sesame Street was awarded with the Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award on August 30, 2009.

The famous faces of Sesame Street include Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, and Snuffle-upagus. As the show is enjoying its 40th year, it’s difficult to avoid this news as they could be seen almost everywhere. Be it Google’s Doodle, or the memorabilia at the Brooklyn Public Library. The characters will also appear on ’streets’ on their big day at 64th street Manhattan. It is also proclaimed that November 10 will be declared as the ‘Sesame Street Day’.
