Police suspect no one in Palisades Mall death, the incident occurred around 7:00 P.M when a 20-year-old Rockland resident apparently jumped from the fourth-floor fence of the mall, unidentified man landed on the bottom floor that lead to the parking garage according to Clarkstown Police. A yellow trap was placed over the body that lay on the floor of Palisades Mall with its limbs spread out awkwardly near the foot of an escalator; police say that the Palisades Mall death looks like an apparent suicide, the man who appeared to be alone at the time was pronounced dead at the spot.

Clarksontown Police Lt. Glenn Dietrich said “We’re looking at it as a suicide”.

Shiny Thomas a cashier at United Color of Benetton located at the first floor of Palisades Mall said she heard a dull sound and saw three girls running away from the railing, she said there was a lot of screaming and jumping back, another employee at who work on a store called “Banana Republic” located where the man landed said at least one sales person had seen the man jump.

Danny Gonzalez an employee of “Sunglass Hut” said he did not saw the man jumping but he did heard it and it felt like a car crash.

It appears that this is not the first suicide happened in Palisades Mall that opened almost a decade ago, back in 2005 a New City man died in the same fashion at this Route 59 mega-mall.
