Paul Burke, the actor who was nominated twice for the Emmy for his role in crime thriller Naked City, died on Sunday. Paul Burke was 83. The TV actor, Paul Burke, had leukemia and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was fighting with this complicated cancer but lost the battle of his life this Sunday. He died at his home in Palm Springs.

Paul Burke had a career as an actor and TV person which spanned over more than 40 years. However, he got mainstream fame from his coarse crime show named Naked City. He was nominated for Emmy twice for his acting in the show.

Paul Burke was born in New Orleans. His father was a boxer and a heavy weight champion. During the Second World War, Paul’s’ family ran a restaurant cum bar at the French Quarter of the City. Here Paul spent much of his boyhood but then left for Southern California to start an acting career. Paul was 19 at that time.

Paul Burke’s acting career began with a small role in the film titled Golden Girl. Paul was then casted in five episodes of Harbourmaster which was aired on CBS as well. Paul did many TV shows including Tightrope, The Adventures of Superman and Men of Annapolis. Paul also appeared in the NBC science fiction The Man and the Challenge. Paul Burke’s last appearance as an actor was in 12 ‘o Clock High, a TV show. Paul retired in the early years of 1990s.
