Rackspace outage caused several hotshot websites to go down. Rackspace outage began Friday afternoon when their Dallas Data Centre ran into some network related problems. Rackspace one of the most renounced web hosting company outage caused many to vent their outrage on blogs and Twitter pages.

It has been reported that Rackspace outage impacted several popular tech websites such as TechCrunch and Mashable not to mention learnitfirst. Com, which is availing Rackspace servers to host their IT Training videos.

LearnItFirst learnt about the problem when they receive several complaints that website in not available and unreachable.

This is not the first time that Rackspace got into outage problem this year, in fact 2009 has not been the smoothest year for the hosting company. This is the fourth time that hosting company Rackspace went into trouble of outage.

In June this year Rackspace got into problem when their data centre lost power causing an outage, then again in July same power failures caused an outage for the hosting company. November, 2009 was also one of those months in which Rackspace gone into trouble when Rackspace Cloud Sites and Slicehost went down due to power related issues and now in December some network related issue caused an outage again.

Rackspace network related problem started at 03:44 P.M Friday afternoon and lasted up to half an hour till 4:15 P.M.

Rackspace Twitter page shows that the network related problem was caused at a peering location outside their data centre facility.

Our suggestion for the hosting company is that they should take more precautionary measures if they don’t want to lose their reputation as a good hosting company.
