Sergio Garcia has been voted prom queen at Fairfax High School, Los Angeles. Openly gay teen Sergio Garcia becomes the prom queen at Fairfax High in L.A where the campaign began as a stunt but finished as encouraging conversation on the campus about gender roles and fame.

On Saturday at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Sergio Garcia said that he felt “invincible” after crowned as prom queen at the Fairfax High School dance. Long before the prom Sergio Garcia 18-year-old stood in the gymnasium of the school and told the classmates, that if he was selected, he will not wear a dress, he said that he will be wearing a suit, but don’t be tricked as deep down inside “I am a Queen”. Sergio Garcia spent most of his high school years as an open gay and wanted to be the part of prom court, and on the day he kept his promise by wearing a gray tuxedo and won the title of prom queen as well.

Vanessa Lo the president of senior class said that many students were against the idea and thought that Sergio Garcia was looking for some attention but later they admitted that they were wrong.

Talking to the media he said that he just wants to be himself and have no wish to become or to be a girl. Even though several students were supporting Sergio Garcia in his campaign, but many others were upset and did not appreciate Sergio Garcia for choosing to be a prom queen.
