As a member of Texas Library Association these tattooed ladies of TLS revealed their charms and obscured art of INK to raise funds for their library, which was destroyed during the hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as a fundraising movement for the Texas Library Association “LIBRARY DISASTER RELIEF FUND”, this calendar displays the charms and often covered art of 18 women of the Texas library community.

Not only these women exposed their tattoos for the cause but shared their stories just for the welfare of the State’s libraries. Tattooed ladies of TLA not only symbolized city and rural libraries but academic, public and school libraries are also included. You will see veteran professionals, adoring lay lawyers, ex-librarians and library school students and the only thing common in all of them is love of books and passion to save as much as they can. Libraries flourish on and encourage diversity and freedom of expression and Tattooed Ladies of TLA calendar is a tribute to both.

An ex-librarian Beth Thames said that she was 52-years-old when she got her first tattoo, according to her people say that tattoos fade as you grow old so she decided to get them in old age so she does not have to worry about them fading.

The tattooed ladies of TLS calendar costs only $20 but the motive behind this campaign is so big that it won’t bother anyone to buy two or three just as a gesture of goodwill and present it to some friend as a remembrance of good time, the collected money will be used to recover libraries from the devastated natural disasters, books are heritage and must be saved.
