United States Marine Corps believe in the notion “don’t let any man lag behind”. Their strong affection towards this mind-set is indoctrinated in their minds as the part of their training. USMC is celebrating their 234th birthday on November 10, 2009. The day is celebrated every year.

There is an extravaganza of festivities on the event to commemorate the birth day. Marine Corps Birthday Ball has the biggest appeal this time. The birth day will be celebrated at “Hilton Guam Resort and Spa”. The ball will be placed on 13th of this month. It has been announced that anyone belonged to the corps can participate in the ceremony and the only thing they have to do is just to purchase a ticket for entry. The tickets can be bought from Pacific War Museum.

Lawrence is another place where the 234th birthday of the United States Marine Corps is being celebrated. It is anticipated that at least 200 marines will participate in the celebrations. The main speaker of the event will be Col Ivan Glasco and Col. Stephen D.Waldron is not attending the event because he had to go some Marine’s burial ceremony.

Lawrence is a hub of big celebrations every year and a lot of people belonging to marine community commemorate and rejoice the birthday. “It’s short. And it’s a remembrance.” said Erv Hodges who is USMC veteran. USMC who is serving in Afghanistan and Iraq will rejoice the event as well. But the mode of celebrations will be diverse in various parts of the world wherever the marines are deployed.
