USNA General Hoyt S. Vandenberg was a massive World War II ship and was named after Air Force’s General Vandenberg. USNA General Hoyt S. Vandenberg was lastly used by the United States Air Force for attacking the spacecrafts and missiles, but it was not more than a usual business.

USNS General Hoyt S Vandenberg was retired by Navy and was sunk in the seven miles off Key West in Gulf of Mexico between 10:20 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. ET. USNS General Hoyt S Vandenberg has become the second largest air coral reef in the world; it only took 2 minutes to sink the whole ship.

According to the authorities the sinking of USNS General Hoyt S Vandenberg went more effortlessly and efficiently than the Spiegel Grove off Key Largo in 2002. Spiegel Grover a 510 foot landing ship which was decommissioned earlier in the year almost sank upside-down in 2002 hours prior to an effort to scamper it to create an artificial reef.
