Vernon Forrest Killed

Vernon Forrest was a former World Champion Boxer, who was shot more than six times in back and killed at a Petrol Station during an attempt of robbery as reported by “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” newspaper. Newspaper further added that when Vernon Forrest was chasing one of the robbers after they robbed him on Sunday; Vernon Forrest was shot.
Houston-based trainer “Ronnie Shields” told to the “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” that everyone is in surprise to know regarding the death of Vernon Forrest. Vernon Forrest was never did anything wrong to anyone and was always a nice gentleman. He was appreciated in the “Boxing Community”. It is tough time for his family and for all who like him. The newspaper also told to Atlanta police spokesman “Keith Meadow” that Vernon Forrest was also carrying weapons and exchanged firing with the robbers. The girlfriend of his 11 yeast old son was also with him at “Chevron station” but she did not see the shooting.
Vernon Forrest competed in 1992 Olympics for the US prior to turning pro. In 2001, he got the “International Boxing Federation Welterweight Title” and also turned into the Middleweight Champion of World Boxing Council. 38 years old Vernon Forrest ended his Boxing career with record of forty one wins, twenty nine knockouts and only 3 losses. Vernon Forrest named as the Fighter of the year in 2002 Ring Magazine and he also defeated “Shane Mosley” twice for that year. Although Vernon Forrest was not wedded but he had a son named “Vernon Jr.” (12 years old).
