"The Voynich Manuscript dates back no less than to the seventeenth century, however it is probably much older."

You realize, or maybe not, that this sentence makes no sense. So it's hard to proceed with any degree of trust from here. The Voynich something I take very seriously and have devoted a great many hours of study to. Please be more careful in the future, as you can, as so much on the internet does, easily mislead people.

Nevertheless, the choices that you leave us with, "It is either an inventive practical joke or an unbreakable secret message," are not the ONLY ones that may explain it. Does this book really look as if it were intended to be a "secret"?? Drawings, colors, diagrams, charts... not very hidden to me. Now, of course, the language is indicipherable TO US, that does not mean it was INTENDED to be secretive. There are countless other possible explanations.
