Nevertheless, the choices that you leave us with, "It is either an inventive practical joke or an unbreakable secret message," are not the ONLY ones that may explain it. Does this book really look as if it were intended to be a "secret"?? Drawings, colors, diagrams, charts... not very hidden to me. Now, of course, the language is indicipherable TO US, that does not mean it was INTENDED to be secretive.
