3D techniques presented by, William Friese Greene, the British film pioneer, about 115 years ago and now Sony is planning to take a leap into the 3D market as well, Sony have plans to produce a TV capable to displaying 3D videos, this decision came from the technology giant after some of the business rivals have announced a commitment in the same field.

This Stereoscopic’ technology of William Friese Greene, in 1894, was sadly unsuccessful to set the small television market ablaze. After about three decades, screen got awareness about this technique after the first 3D movie presented in Los Angeles, for a commercial audience, 3D technique run-offs towards repute and utility.

Undoubtedly this year can be called the year of 3D after the projects from both Sky and Channel 4, 2010 and the launch of 3D ‘Avatar’ film in the cinemas by James Cameron cinemas. As some of competitive channels have proclaimed an assurance to making TVs capable of displaying 3-D video Sony has also announced plans to bring 3D screening into homes next year. Sony President Sir Howard Stringer declared ‘The 3D train is on its way, and we at Sony are geared up to drive it home.’

In the meantime Sky has also announced an arrangement to introduce a 3D satellite channel in United Kingdome in the year 2010 It is being said, after Sony s announcement about 3D, that flat TV demand will surely be slowdown in the market but there the question about so much frequent use of this technology is rather the domestic consumer market really requires to necessitate a 3D television or not. The question might remains, but one thing for sure is that we will be watching 3D videos and images within next decade.
